Mission. Vision. Values.

History

Small Beginnings
Live Oak Church was started by founding pastor Pat Howell and a few people desiring to reach the Navarre area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We were assisted in this journey by Santa Rosa Shores Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze. We launched on July 4, 1999 under a pavilion at the recreation center of Holly By the Sea.

Leading Us Forward
Later, we met at the conference center at the Days Inn and West Navarre Elementary School before moving to our current location on East Bay Blvd in 2003. We completed construction on our current worship center in 2011.

A Strong History of Discipleship
Live Oak Church has been blessed to see many people come through our doors, be discipled, and move to other parts of our nation to disciple others. Others have been able to stay and continue on in this journey of faith as we learn to be the body of Christ in Navarre. We welcome you to join us for a bright future of family and faith in Jesus Christ!

Leadership

Live Oak Church is an Elder-led congregation. We believe that a plurality of elders is the leadership structure seen within the Bible. For this reason, Live Oak is led by a body of co-equal elders. All significant decisions are made in unanimity. The Elders pastor each other and share in pastoring the congregation and in the leadership and oversight of church ministries. Two of our elders are on staff (Andy Crumpler and Pat Howell) and two are lay-elders (Joey Revette and Stephen See).

Membership

Church membership is a way of identifying oneself with a local body of believers and of making oneself accountable to spiritual leadership. Church membership is also a statement of solidarity and like-mindedness.

We would love the opportunity to talk with you about what it means to be a member of Live Oak Church. We invite you to contact us in person, or through the Contact page of this website, to let us know you’re interested in learning more about membership. We will gladly walk you through a few steps to insure we answer all of your questions and that you understand what it means to be a part of the body of Christ at Live Oak.
